What is the RankSpot SEO MCP server?
It is a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects any MCP-compatible AI agent to live RankSpot SEO data. Once connected, your agent can research competitors, discover and score keywords, run backlink gap analysis, mine People Also Ask questions, find forum opportunities for GEO, plan content topics, generate full articles, and read your Google Search Console data, all from plain-English prompts. There is nothing to install locally: you point your client at the server URL and authenticate.
What is the SEO MCP server URL?
The endpoint is https://mcp.rankspot.ai. Paste that URL into any MCP client (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex CLI, ChatGPT, or your own agent) as a Streamable HTTP MCP server, then authenticate with your RankSpot API key or OAuth.
How do I connect the SEO MCP to Claude, Cursor, or VS Code?
Add https://mcp.rankspot.ai as a remote MCP server in your client. In Claude Code, run `claude mcp add --transport http rankspot https://mcp.rankspot.ai`. In Cursor or VS Code, add a `rankspot` entry under `mcpServers` with that URL. In Claude Desktop or claude.ai, add it as a custom connector. Every option is on this page under Client setup, with copy-paste config for each client.
How do I authenticate: OAuth or API key?
OAuth is the simplest and recommended way. On clients that support remote MCP login (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, and ChatGPT connectors) you run a one-time browser sign-in, with no key to paste, store, or rotate. Only if a client does not support OAuth should you fall back to a RankSpot API key: grab it from Settings → API Keys in the dashboard and pass it as an Authorization: Bearer header. Each key and workspace is scoped to one account.
What tools does the SEO MCP server expose?
