Free SEO Title Generator

Generate five title tag variants for any page, each measured in pixels against what Google actually displays. No sign-up required.

Appended as a pipe suffix and counted in the pixel width.

How to use the SEO title generator

1. Describe the page

Enter what the page is about and the keyword you want it to rank for. Add your brand name if you append it to titles.

2. Pick an angle

Choose a balanced mix, or push all five variants toward how-to, listicle, comparison or question framing.

3. Check it fits

Every title is measured in pixels against Google's limit, not just counted in characters. Edit any of them and the measurement updates as you type.

What is an SEO title?

An SEO title is the clickable headline Google shows for your page. It comes from the <title> element in the head of the page, which is why it is also called the title tag or the meta title. All three names describe the same thing, which is why a title tag generator and an SEO title generator are the same tool.

It is not your <h1>. The H1 is the heading a visitor reads once they arrive; the title tag is what persuades them to arrive at all. They often say something similar, and they do not have to be identical. The title tag can be shorter and more search-focused, since it competes against nine other results.

The title tag remains one of the strongest on-page relevance signals, and it is the single biggest lever on click-through rate. Two pages with equal authority will perform very differently if one title promises something specific and the other says "Home".

Google does sometimes rewrite titles, usually when they are stuffed with keywords, badly truncated, or duplicated across a site. Writing a clear, accurate, well-sized title is how you keep control of what appears.

Any page can be described honestly in a dozen different ways, and the differences in click-through between them are real. That is what an AI SEO title generator is genuinely good for: producing several accurate options in seconds so you can pick rather than settle for the first phrasing you thought of. The tool above works as a title generator from keywords you have already chosen to target, so every variant is built around the term you want the page to rank for.

Title tag length: why pixels beat characters

The 60-character rule is a rough proxy, and it is wrong often enough to matter.

Google does not truncate titles at a character count. It truncates at a rendered width, roughly 580 pixels on desktop. Characters are not equal widths, so two titles of exactly 60 characters can land on opposite sides of the limit.

A title of capital letters and wide characters such as W and M can be cut off at 54 characters. A title full of narrow characters such as i, l, t and spaces can survive past 65. Writing to a character count means guessing.

This is why every title above shows its measured pixel width alongside its character count. The generator renders each title in the same font Google uses and measures it, so the verdict is based on what will actually be displayed. Edit a title and the measurement updates as you type.

If you use a brand suffix, it counts. "| Acme Digital Marketing Agency" can consume a third of your budget on its own. The tool measures the full string including the suffix, which is what Google renders.

To see the title in a full search result alongside the URL and description, use the SERP Preview Tool.

What makes a good SEO title

  • Keyword near the front. Put the term the page targets as early as it reads naturally. Front-loading helps both relevance and the scanning eye.
  • A specific promise.A number, a year, a format or an outcome. "12-Step Checklist" beats "Complete Guide" because it says what you get.
  • Fits the pixel budget. Roughly 580px on desktop. A truncated title loses its ending, which is usually where the promise lives.
  • Unique across your site. Two pages with the same title compete with each other and look templated.
  • Honest. A title that oversells gets the click and loses the visit. Bounces back to the results page are a worse outcome than never ranking.

A useful test: if you saw only your title in a list of ten, would you click it over the other nine? If the answer depends on the searcher already knowing your brand, the title is not doing its job.

Worth being honest about what tooling can do here. Even the best SEO title generator only proposes options and measures whether they fit. Whether a title is accurate about your page, and whether it promises something you actually deliver, stays a judgement call that belongs to you.

Once your titles are set, write the descriptions that sit under them with the Meta Description Generator.

Common SEO title mistakes

Four errors account for most titles that underperform or get rewritten by Google.

Writing to a character count instead of a pixel width

Google truncates at roughly 580 pixels on desktop, not at 60 characters. A title full of wide letters gets cut at 54 characters, while a narrow one survives past 65. Counting characters is a proxy that regularly gives the wrong answer.

Putting the brand first

Leading with your company name spends the most valuable part of the title on something the searcher is not looking for. Put the brand at the end, or leave it off entirely on pages where it adds nothing.

Repeating the keyword

Using the target keyword two or three times does not help rankings and reads as spam. Google frequently rewrites titles it considers keyword stuffed, so you lose control of what appears.

Reusing the same title across pages

Duplicate titles make it harder for Google to tell your pages apart and often signal thin or templated content. Every indexable page needs a title describing that page specifically.

Frequently asked questions

What are SEO titles?
An SEO title is the clickable headline shown for your page in search results. It comes from the HTML title tag in the head of the page, sometimes called the title tag or meta title. It is not the same as the H1 heading shown on the page itself, although the two often say similar things. The title tag is one of the strongest on-page relevance signals and is the single biggest influence on whether someone clicks your result.
What is a SEO-friendly title?
An SEO-friendly title includes the target keyword near the front, describes the page accurately, fits inside Google's display limit, and gives a person a reason to click. It reads as natural English rather than a string of keywords. It is also unique across your site, so no two pages compete with the same title.
What is a good SEO title?
A good SEO title does four things at once: it contains the keyword the page targets, it fits within roughly 580 pixels so Google shows it in full, it promises something specific such as a number, a format or an outcome, and it matches what the page actually delivers. "Technical SEO Audit: A 12-Step Checklist for 2026" does all four. "Audit Services" does none of them.
How to create a good SEO title?
Start with the keyword you want the page to rank for and put it as close to the front as reads naturally. Add the specific thing that makes the page worth opening: a count, a year, a format, a result. Keep it under about 580 pixels, which is usually 50 to 60 characters. Put your brand at the end if you use one. Then check it against the rest of your site so no two pages share a title. The generator above does the first pass and measures the result for you.
What does an SEO title look like?
In the HTML it is a single line in the head of the page: a title element wrapping your text. In search results it appears as the blue clickable heading above the URL and description. A typical one reads like "How to Choose CRM Software: 7 Things to Compare | Acme", with the keyword first, a specific promise, and the brand as a suffix.
What are some good SEO-friendly titles?
Patterns that consistently work: a number plus a noun plus a qualifier, such as "9 Best Running Shoes, Tested Over 300 Miles"; a how-to with a defined scope, such as "How to Run a Technical SEO Audit in 12 Steps"; a comparison, such as "Notion vs Obsidian: Which Fits Your Workflow?"; and a direct question matching the query, such as "What Is Schema Markup and Do You Still Need It?". Each leads with the keyword and promises something concrete.
What are some good title tag examples?
Compare the weak and strong versions of the same page. "Welcome to our blog | Acme Digital Marketing Agency Ltd" wastes the front of the title on branding and gets truncated. "SEO Blog: Practical Guides and Case Studies | Acme" leads with the topic and fits. Similarly, "Best Running Shoes Best Shoes For Running" repeats the keyword and invites a Google rewrite, while "The 9 Best Running Shoes, Tested Over 300 Miles" uses it once and adds credibility. The examples section above has more.
What's a good catchy title?
For search, catchy means specific rather than clever. A title that promises a concrete outcome, a number, or an answer beats wordplay, because searchers are scanning results for whichever one clearly solves their problem. Curiosity gaps that hide what the page is about tend to lose the click to a result that states it plainly. Be interesting by being precise, and never promise something the page does not deliver.
